University of Mumbai
The College was started in 1988 to provide an undergraduate programme in commerce (B.Com), which was the most in-demand and employability-oriented discipline in those days. Today we have around 3500 students on our rolls, around half of them being women students. Most of them are from the low-income groups.
Our dedication to the cause of providing quality education, helped us soon in getting our college affiliated to the University of Mumbai and also getting recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
During the 36 years since our inception, we have crossed many milestones, the important ones being :
- Accreditation with ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2015.
- Conferment of Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission in
- ‘Best College Award’ from the University of Mumbai
- ‘Best Principal Award’ from the University of Mumbai
- ‘Best Non-teaching Staff Award’ from the University of Mumbai
- Active participation in Research activities by staff and
- Meritorious performance by students in sports and cultural activities at university and state
- A vibrant unit of National Service Scheme (NSS) involved community
- Successful introduction of New Education Policy – 2020 (NEP-2020) in both letter and
